Mealworm Life Span?

Alright, so I had bought four 50 counts (they didn't have 100's >_>) of small mealworms for my juvie leopard gecko and I'm wondering how long they can live if I keep them primarily in the fridge, and if I put small bits of apple/carrot in there as well.

I'm trying to reduce my visits to the pet store and I can't breed mealworms (I live in a small apartment, and I can't imagine the face my mom would give me on that one, haha.)

So how long do they normally live, provided they have food and water?

They can last several months with proper care in the fridge. Keep in mind, mealworms do not eat while in the fridge, so keeping them there with some veggies is useless. To feed them, take them out for a good 1-2 days. From there you can gutload/feed them (fish flakes, veggies, fruit, oatmeal, etc.) and then give them whenever your gecko is hungry. Then you can pop 'em back in the fridge.
