Just wondering on housing them. I have 3 groups of slightly different sizes and was wondering if itd be safe to house them all together in a bigger container or if they'll eat one another. there are a few that are new hatchling(lol they called that?) that are tiny and some are 2 inchs think it'd be safe?

All my beetles and pulpas are in seperate bins(one for pupas and 2 for beetles) so thats 5 bins just for mealies hence why i ask^^ also would i be alright to house the darkligns together? Theres around 500 if not more and i have them devided in 2...kinda:D

i keep my mealies all in one container until they morph from pupa to beatle. then i have the beatles seperated into a container with window screen over the substrate so they can lay through it. another member here game me that idea... then once a month you just dump the beatle substrate back in with the mealies, and repeat. i have about 2500 mealies now with about 70-80 beatles laying

yep, same thread, and that idea was awesome. as far as ive noticed so far, the mealies aren't eating one another like the supers are. i don't think you will have an issue with keeping different size mealies together as long as you have food and moisture available

;D thought so! it is! i cant wait till the supers pupate and beetle-lize(that a word?) so i can give it a go! Always have food avaible=w= they live in it after all and they get moisture from carrots every day to every other depending on if they need it;D thanks!

thanks for the pic;D i was wondering about what it'd look like with the screen and all. they look alot bigger then darkling beetles, sorry ive never seen super worms beetle form(cant member the name this late) so thanks for that too=] so i'd only need to house them in a smaller container like that? Im using the storage containers you get from walmart for cheap for mealies, supers, and roachs..mm but then i have more then 500+ beetles i dont think they'd fit in a smaller container(darkling beetles i mean) thanks again! the pic helps alot:main_thumbsup:

is that a potatoe? i heard that potates are bad with mosture and often cause mites. As it had any effect on your little colony?

np, and yeah i'll be expanding soon. hopefully in a few months ill have to use one of those under bed bins. good thing about those is they are huge and have a center divider. will be much easier to seperate and i can slide it under my couch, lol
