Mealworms for 2 + breeding?

Would 1000 mealworms be enough to form a breeding colony + leave me enough to feed my geckos while they breed?

I have 2 younger geckos and I want to get some meal worms, but i want to have enough to feed and keep a colony...

I think 1000 is more than enough for your 2 leos.

Thats what I did, it worked really well. Although I ended up needing to buy about 500 more because they all turned to beetles before I could refrigerate them. Granted I was going through 25 a day.
