Mealworms from a dish

I have a 2 year old Leo that I have been spoiling by placing mealworms in front of her to eat. I would like her to eat from a dish and I know she ate from a dish with her last owner who is a breeder. How long should I let her go before I cave in and hand feed her? 2 days is my max so far...
