You could try it, but they usually only go after moving prey items... How big are the mealworms and how big is your gecko? Believe it or not, I feed my hatchlings full size mealworms without any problems....

It should do fine on them...

When I hatched my first geckos I too was under the impression that they required very small mealworms... I ordered 5000 1/4 inch mealworms and found out after that that they can handle 3/4 to 1 inch mealworms...

I do the exact same thing. I buy one size (medium - 3/4) mealworms for all my geckos. Adults or hatchlings, they scarf them down with no problem. When Hatchling I would assume they wouldn't go for nonmoving prey. My hatchlings go for the most active mealies first then the slower ones last.

When I got my leo, they told me to cut up the mealworms, because the gecko was so small. I cut one up in two, the gecko didn't go near it, so I threw a mealworm in there about 1 inch long, and she ate it right up, no problems.
