Mealworms

Sorry i haven't posted for a while But I'm thinking about starting my own colony of them since the pet store sells them for $5 for a hundred and my brothers and mine eat quite a bit that i run threw them a lot. And it gets expensive so what are your ideas are they good feeder choice

You will want to start your colony as soon as possible. It takes time to get beetles, produce the mealworms, and get them big enough for adult geckos to eat. They are a good insect for a staple, but it is always good to provide the gecko with a variety of different bugs.

Ok well ive bought some from the pet store that have some pupae in them and already got some beetles as well

I would start off with about 1000 mealworms. Here's a guide on how to breed mealworms. Make sure you keep them in a confined area. The beetles can crawl everything. But make sure to have ventilation.

Well wasnt able to get the 1000 count but got 500 on the way and 5 more beatles today
