Been a busy few days. Amongst finishing up some workstuff, my new addition has been named, has shed, and has eaten about 6 crickets.

His name is: Bahamut Solaris. Basol, or Baz, for short.

I chose the Bahamut first. Not only is Bahamut both the awesome summon if several FF games & the dragon god in D&D, fulfilling the geek aspect of the name, but the origin of the name lies in Arabic mythology. Bahamut is a large fish, said to support the weight of the world. This fulfills the fact that I was looking for an Arabic twist to the name, given where leos are from.

The Solaris came also sort of geekily, as most of you know Solaris is the UNIX thingy from Sun Microsystems. But solaris is also a common name spun off from latin terms for the sun. I wanted some sort of sun-related name for an SHTCTB.

So, there you go! Bahamut Solaris. Basol. Baz.

Lots of pics. He showed the signs of shed yesterday afternoon.

Hai.

You can't see me. Except for my spottytail.

Mum-lady, my nose is rubbed and is yellow. Please to be giving me humid place to eat my skin.

So I give him his humid hide... and he lies behind it. Looking like a ghost. Or dead.

But then, this morning... *SPARKLE*

Look, mum-lady. I pose.

These pics made me realize his viv is rather messy and I should remedy that.

Smilez.

Mum, my viv is COLD. Why did you take it OUTSIDE to clean. Lemme out.

Okay, is warmer now. I wander. Skin is not tight anymore! Freeeee!

Best shot of his colouring so far.

Lovely little dude you've got there...he looks like he has quite the personality. Thanks for sharing the pics, I'd love to see more of them as he progresses.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone!

Someone needs to tell Basol that he's nocturnal. For the last two days he's been hunting/wandering/basking during the day and sleeping at night. ;) He has a daylight, but this basement room also has a rather bright window (the daylight I added as a just-in-case). Silly gecko. Otherwise, He's eating, sleeping, pooping and doing all sorts of healthy gecko things. :D

Also, to confirm, because I'm still new to understanding the morphs - is he indeed a SHTCTB?

From what I can tell, yea. But wait for someone else to reply because I never paid much attention to exactly what morph most leos are (aside from wanting to know what mine were).

Haha, yea my male Dante (who's a SHTCT, just not a baldy) comes out in the day alot. He's still pretty nocturnal but compared to my other gecko he's definitely out in the day more. My other leo, I think someone forgot to tell him he's the kind of gecko who can't climb walls lol

HAHA, that too. Basol loves climbing all over the homemade cave hide I made for him. I'm pondering putting in a piece of store bark or something so he has something else to crawl on. Someone tell our geckos that they are desert dwellers, not arboreal. :p
