To the family!

I might be adopting a Crestie in a few days.

Any advice?

I am temporarily gonna house him in a 10 gallon tank till I an upgrade it.
He has no tail too, so I guess I don't have to worry about that. *Phew*

What kind of advice are you looking for? A ten gallon will be ok at first, but its probably going to want something bigger.

Yeah they can get pretty nice sized, is he a baby, juvie, or an adult?

Tip the 10 gallon on it's side so he has more climbing room.

Keep the temps between 75-80, no higher then 80. Room temps.

Keep the humidity between 60%-80%.

You can keep a water dish to help raise it.

Mist 2 or 3 times a day, especially before you turn off the lights since they are more active at night and come out to drink and eat.

Lots of trees, vines, plants to hide and climb since they are arboreal.

What are you feeding, insects or CGD?

Well I was looking into adopting an adult male, but I haven't heard from the guy selling him.

So now I am just looking into getting anything I can find at a reasonable price/adoption fee.

Do I need a heating lamp?

Thanks for all the advice.

I'm like to feed it insects and I hear they can be fed baby foods.

I would check out CGD(crested gecko diet). It is a complete diet for cresteds, they can live on just it. Ask the previous owner what he was fed on because sometimes its hard to switch them over to it from baby food. Baby food is much sweeter but it is mostly sugar and is not good as a staple diet. The CGD contains everything their body needs to be healthy and makes a great staple. Lots of people also feed crickets to them 2-3 times a week for faster growth rates. And no heat lamp is required because they thrive at room temp(75-80), and can cause stress if the temp reaches 80 plus degrees.

If your room temps are cooler then those temps listed above, then you can get a low watt heating red light, or a UTH and post it to the side of the tank.
