I'm going on xmas break after Thursday and won't be back in school until the end of January so I have A LOT of time but NO money so I was looking for cheap ways to upgrade Lanas Studio Apt, Lol (10 gallon tank).

- I'm planning to get some tile to replace the paper towel substrate :) . I just love the look of tile and I think she'll like it.

- Plan to make 2hides out of "I can't believe its not butter" container". I was planning on gluing sand and plastic plants on to the outside and then sealing it. One hide would be a humid hide with either sphagum moss or coconut fiber and the other one would just be a plan old hide.

- I would also like to make a small second level so I could put a little hide and possibly a water dish to give her more room on the bottom since she's growing and fattening up like a beast. Plus it would give her more room when "hunting". I was thinking of getting using an acrylic frame that is glued in then having a piece of slate to lay on top of it and using double sided tape so it doesn't move much and having either an acrylic ramp with glue ridges and a plastic plant glued along the edge so it seems like a hand rail. OR i was thinking of purchasing a log type thing that she could climb on. The ramp I imagine would start on top of her hide because she's also ways climbing on top of them instead of in them and it wouldn't take up floor space.

How does that sound? I want to try and maximize space until I can get her a bigger tank like a 20gallon long, since the 29gallon my mom mentioned is going to cause more then a headache than what it's worth.

Your ideas sound good, but be careful of fumes when using glue and/or sealants in your enclosure. Make sure it is non toxic and give it time to cure/set. I would hate to hear of your Leo's untimely passing. I don't mean to be grim, I'm just super paranoid about chemicals and Leos.

No I understand what your saying. I'm the same way to. I plan on using Mod Podge for the humid hides someone else on this forum was selling humid hides and that glue/sealer and hasn't had problems. It's also non toxic and water base.

For the landing and ramps I plan to use that aquarium glue and let it set for like a week, Lol So i am POSITIVE that it is dry and sturdy. In the mean time she'll be in another 10gallon that is scratched but it'd work for a week or so.

Cool, I'm just being cautious. Lana looks to be doing great. Have fun renovating Lana's plush hide away, lol. I caught one of my Leos rearranging his pad. I opened the rack and he was pushing one of his hides like a shopping cart. I was cracking up. I don't set anything in place.

She is her tail is getting so fat and she's so greedy with food, Lol..

Yes my vision was to go from a small bland studio to a plush loft :main_laugh:

Lana is always redecorating .. I wake up one night and found her "surfing" on top of the toilet paper roll. She kept me up ALL night riding it back and forth, back and forth.
