Has anyone heard of geckos eating the eggs? Or reabsorbing almost fully-formed eggs?
Minnie Pearl was VERY close to laying and the eggs looked like they were already calcified. She has her laybox in the cage, and I have made sure to check daily when she was getting close. Yesterday, I saw that she was not gravid anymore, so went searching for the eggs. Could...not...find...them...ANYWHERE. I searched the laybox, her hides, and even in her litter box (with a bit of sand...and yes, she goes in there on a regular basis). I practically tore apart her cage looking for them, but no eggs.
Just wondering if it's possible for a gecko to eat the eggs or reabsorb them when they're just about fully formed and ready to lay.
