Mixing Snows?

So, is mixing snows considered a no-no or not? I understand that you can breed back your snow to find out if it's MACK or not since Gems and TUGS don't create super snows... but I've read that otherwise you can't tell them apart. Which means that Gems and TUGS would be indistinguishable.

If that is true, then would the same albino rules apply? If not... then why not?

There are lots of people that mix snows. Although I probably wouldnt mix more than 2 lines. I have seen TUG X Mack and Line X Mack... etc.
You would just have to label them as that, as crosses.

Ok, just to make sure I am understanding it right... the albinos are a no because you can't have a tremper + bell.. it will only be one or the other and you won't be able to tell or even test breed to find out since you will always get one or the other. With the snows since they do mix and you could possibly breed back to find out specifically if someone didn't keep good notes.

I could see how that would work with Mack..but would there ever be a way to know for sure (if someone didn't keep track) on Gem and TUG?

I am just curious. I think that I can safely assume my TUG snows from TUG aren't het for Mack or Gem.

Ack, I knew that! Thats what I get for trying to switch my brain to genetics after trying to teach a bunch of students (adults) some basic electroincs theory. My brain is going to explode.
