Okay so I've had my gecko for about a week now and when i went to check up on him i realized his color is dulling out which I'm guessing means hes about to shed, which then made me realize, "oh boy, i need a moist hide" so i had this piece of Tupperware which i used ONCE (to make chili) and it is still stained from the chili, no matter how many times i have tried to clean it. I cut it up and made his entrance put in the paper towels and moistened it. the thing is, he hates the place. i tried to introduce him to it and he wouldn't stay. Could it be the chili stains and if it is the reason, will the soap residue hurt him from cleaning it?. i did use a lighter to soften the edges so as to not cut him. should i make it dark by taping it? i want to "decorate it" as in make it look all stony and wat not, can someone help me with this?

thanks in advance:)

It could be the chili residue. It may not seem like much, but to a small animal in a small container, that little bit of residue probably has a stronger smell than we may think.
