moist hide question

I have had my leo for a couple weeks now and have a moist hide provided. It is a hide meant for snakes with a removable lid with a small hole in the top. I have sphagnum moss in there and I made the hole in the top bigger so she can get in and out easier. So far I have not seen her use it even once, is the problem that the entrance is on the top or will she only go in there when ready to shed? The hide is on the warm side of her tank as that seems to be the concensus from what I have read.

you could try to put her in it and put the lid on and let her climb out through the hole so she knows what it is and how to get into it. some leos will go into the humid hide when they aren't shedding and some will only do when they shed, it just varies with them

I've seen some threads where the posters say their leos never use their moist hides and shed just find. My leo won't go in his either I think 'cause he was tub raised and doesn't like the feel of the sphagnum moss. Maybe try wet paper towels insted or some one eve uses a terra cotta method. A little dish with pea gravel base covered in water, covered with a piece of terra cotta and the terra cotta soaks up the mositure in the pea gravel reservioire. Then the leo sits on the soaked moist piece of terra cotta.
