Moist hide

Hello ppl, i have my moist box on the cool side filled with moist papertowels and my gecko loves them when i soak the papertowels in hot water then ring them out because he always goes in when the papertowels are hot but what side is best to put the moist hide on? Also my gecko's skin is getting very pale and i think he is about to shed cause the tip of his nose is alot brighter than he use to be and his skin is getting flaky. I tried to put in a Very shallow tub filled with water but he HATED it. So i guess i should just keep moistening the box but what side is best for the moist box to be on if there is one.

The only place to put the moist hide is on the hot side of the tank. The heat evaporates the water making it humid. (Which is the other term for the hide: humid hide) He likes the steam, I would assume, from the hot paper towels.

OK thanks i was right he is rubbing his nose all up and down the sides of the hide. the skin is peeling back. Ill get a couple pics If i can.

my humid hide isn't on the hot side and my guy does just fine with his shed, in fact he's in there most of the time. someone had mentioned that putting it on the hot side just makes more work because the water evaporates faster. the way i figure it, the water will evaporate either way, so whether it's 90* or 78* isn't going to make a huge difference in the humidity inside the humid hide.

I have one hide is my rack (in each bin) on the cool side. It makes alot less work.

2/3 of our gecko tanks have their hides on the hot side, but the hides have very small top openings and keep the moisture pretty well. The other has 2 humid hides because theres 2 growing leo's in there, one is in the mid of the tank the other on the cool side. All 4 of these geckos(1 male 30long, 2female growing 40breeder, 1female 20long) almost never leave their shed box. The full grown female, you can see a track of eco earth/bed-a-beast from her food, to her shed hide, to her magnetic rock. Doesnt even go near the cold side except to poo.
