Moist hide

Is it instinct for a gecko to go into his moist hide when he is gonna shed? Iv had my leo for 3 days and its like he hasnt even noticed the moist hide? Is this normal? Idk when he shed last but i was just wondering

I leave my humid hide with damp moss in it in the tank all the time. He spends most of his time inside it probably because it's more comfortable to lay on damp moss then the tile.
When he's about to shed he will spend days inside the humid hide. He spends more time in the humid hide then the hot hide. The only time he goes in the hot hide is after he eats and he stays in there for normally 24hrs straight to digest his food.

I honestly think they know to use the humid hide when it's time to shed as my Leo spends days inside his humid hide..

Okay, my leo hasnt gone in his yet, he spends all day laying on the tile on the hot side
