Just need to know a really good moss to use for the bedding. I couldn't find peat moss around where I live but I found SCHULTZ brand "all natural Green moss." It smells like the bedding I use for my iguana (some kind of coconut packaged stuff that i have to add water to got it from petco). any suggestions or any pics of your hides. Thank you

For just a moist hide box I turn one of those small gladware plastic container upside down. I cut a hole for entry and place moist paper towels or pieces of rag on the inside. I then mist occasionally to keep the hide box moist. As for females getting ready to lay eggs they get a little larger hide-box with the hole raised about an inch off the floor base of the box. On the inside I add a good thick layer of either bed-a-beast or vermiculite. I have used moss in the past but find that mold grows in a straight moss hide box. I have not had any problems with mold while using bed-a-beast or vermiculite in my nesting boxes.

We too use bed-a-beast (coco fiber) in our moist hideboxes for laying females, and paper towels otherwise :)

I have only heard good things about peat moss and spagnum moss. We tried something called "frog moss" from PetSmart, and it gave one of our leos a weird rash..

They should have it at any pet store that sells reptiles. It comes in brick form (sometimes it's in packages of three, sometimes just one) and you add water to make it expand.
