Mold on mealworm food?

I was feeding one of my geckos tonight when I realized that the gutload I had given my mealworms (apple) had mold on it. I don't know how long it had been there (my guess is no more than a week), but the salient point in that I do not want it to harm my lizards if I had accidentally fed them mealworms that had possibly ate this mold.

Could it cause harm to them?

I wouldn't recommend gut loading the mealies with mold or rotten apples, but I don't think that this would be very harmful if happened just once. Think of people - if you eat some mold, accidentaly or in a dish that you didn't know it had some mold in (like if you go to a bad restaurant) - you don't get sick immediately. Cheer up - your geckos will be just fine.
