Montanus Enigma Cross,...(?)

As I wasn`t able to get a E. m. "montanus" male this year (I really want to keep my locality lines pure), I did a testbreeding with a Tremper Sunglow Enigma male.

I accidently mixed up some eggs, so I`m not 100% sure if this is what I expect it to be.
In both pictures it is compared with an afghanicus.

I´d say...keep it apart from other projects...

I really think we should keep subs apart from the `morph` world....

No worries, I will keep my subspecies-/ and locality lines "clean", if I will offer any it will be 100% pure.
But I see no problem with adding their genetics to morph projects, especially as I`m far from being sure, that the "montanus" are more than just a western pacistan locality of the nominat species E. macularius macularius.
I`m fascinated what the afghanicus crosses produce, but thats a cross I wouldn`t do personally at the moment, as they are the only valid subspecies of the E. macularius and seem to vary a lot from the nominat species. But each to it`s own :)

Back to the topic: Did anyone do this cross and can provide us some comparison shots?

Call me stupid but Im a little confussed on the montanus thing. What is it exactly?

Montanus is one of the subspecies of Eublepharis Macularius (e.m)

Theres also:
Eublepharis Macularius Montanus
Eublepharis Macularius Fasciolatus (fasc, fascio)
Eublepharis Macularius Afghanicus (afghan)

They all look very similar, but there are slight differences in markings and contrast in the subspecies compared with the pure macularius.

Maybe someone wants to go into more detail about these, cause im certainly no expert on subspecies :)
