the first I agree is a red dalmatian. The second is not a buckskin, buckskins are more brown, I would call that a pale yellow flame. The dots all over it are "freckles", with age they usually go away. Seriously cute little yellow thing it is.
Nice looking geckos, I agree a red dalmatian and a yellow flame.
I noticed that the red's tail looks like it has shed stuck on it and has shriveled up on the tail. It may lose that part of the tail, just to fore warn you. If it does lose the tail, no worries, it may just lose part of the tail and not the whole tail. If it drops the tail, a clean tank will help prevent any infections, you do not have to place anything on it, if you would like to put an antibiotic on it, then a triple antibiotic with no pain killers is alright to use.
And you have a good eye. When I got him, I noticed the nick, I was originally going to post a pic of the tail to see what you guys thought of it but when I took the pictures (day 3) it looked more dry and noticeably better so I thought no need to worry and just keep an eye on it. Since it's doing better I wont put antibiotics on it, I'm just going to let it do its gecko thing. Thanks for the advise!
Honestly it is best to let it be and not use things like a triple antibiotic cream on it. If they are housed together I would seperate them because it would have been done by its cagemate. If housed alone it could have come from like it getting scrapped on rough decor or pinched in a door. The best treatment is just a clean cage, on paper towels changed every other day, and the hard part, the perfect humidity. Too low it will dry up and shrivel away (which it might very well do anyways, but more could be lost), or too much a ranging infection can happen. So try not to let the cage dry out, and dont keep it overly wet. That is honestly the best treatment you can do at home for it because these guys normally do not die from tail nips, remember in the wild 90% of the population has no tail. The tails fix themselves on their own, and if gets too bad the gecko will drop the tail themselves and go on living a happy frogbutt life.
