So, im going to pick this guy up tomorrow. The guy said he hasnt been eating for him, and hes sooo skinny. He says he's a Diablo Blanco, but ive never seen a Diablo Blanco with any pattern. Anybody know what morph this guy is?
That looks like a very very sickly super snow albino (dont know which albino). I really hope your not paying him money for that, and I hope you dont mind paying what will be a needed vet visit.
I will definitely be taking him to the vet, that goes without saying. But the lowest I was able to talk the guy down to is 35. But I figure its better to pay the 35 than leave him there where he wont be taken care of.
The fact that he's actually asking for money at all for a rescue is a bit ridiculous, but if you dont mind the charge just to get it out of his hands then goon on you :main_thumbsup:.
Definately a super snow albino... i dont know what strain though. it sounds like you will be doing good things for him, especially by getting him out of that home!
I just picked him up and hes soo thin. And its obvious the guy just hasnt been feeding him. He would snap at my fingers everytime they moved, and when I put him in his tank with a bowl of mealies he immediately started to eat. Poor guy.
oh my god that poor baby! i hope he grows fat and healthy with you! keep us posted please! he has beautiful coloring to him nonethe less, so hopefully he will fill out and be the beautiful fat gecko that he is supposed to be!
Good luck my hat is off to you I would never pay anything for a gecko in that condition regardless of the morph. And how far south in Jersey are you? And definitely A super snow albino, and quarantine even though it's eating may have some health issues you don't want you other geckos catching.
I would regulate his food intake to about 3 mealworms twice a day until he puts on a bit of weight. Too much food too fast might cause him to regurgitate if he hasn't been fed regularly and might do more harm than good. I hate seeing people that abuse animals earn money for their negligence but glad he's in better hands now!!
So I took him to the vet yesterday and the vet said that other than being severely emaciated and a little dehydrated he seems perfectly healthy. His fecal test came up clean. But he's stopped eating. I know he's knew and needs to settle in, but with how thin he is im worried about him not eating for any amount of time. Should I let him settle in first or should I try and feed him some slurry? I wish I had thought of this before the vet closed so I could have asked him.
i would at least let him rest for the night, but i would try getting some calories in him by tommorrow. good on you for taking him to the vet! and i hope he pulls through! hes very beautiful! keep us posted please!
