I am looking for some spagnum moss, to decorate the crestie tank, and aid in humidity... I looked at the store and they hade a TINY bag for 5$ (this is a pet store... *****....). I thought that sounded rediculouse. Are bags of moss from craft stores etc. safe? I am looking for a larger quantity, beacuse I want to use it in my humid hides/egg laying boxes for my leos. Thanks.

Some might say skip paying and go with the bare necessities such as paper towl. Or go hunt for some in the wild. thats fine. It comes down to preference. If i were a crested gecko would i want to live in squalor? well no. When it comes to habitat I prefer au'natural and I dont have a problem paying for a block of terranium moss, break off what you need, add water, wait 5 mins, and voula you have moist moss for $8, the block will last you months. It does a better job at keeping your tank humid as well. I dont know much about craft store moss, its from a craft store, is your gecko from a craft store? Not that a petstore is better, but when it comes to supplies they specialize in those items and seriously, im sure youve gotten less for $8.

Plant stores, Lowes, Home Depot or Wal Mart's garden center are the best places to go. The pet store moss is way overpriced and you get the same thing.

thanks guys, and its not the price. I would happily pay 8 buckas for a large brick... too bad they dont sell them in sores near me, and getting one shipped to my door would be over 20$, and again I would be even fine with that, but I was just wondering if I could get the same type of stufff for cheaper. Thanks again!
