Okay well i got a new moist hide for my two geckos a large Exo Terra one. i got a large for three reasons really
1, i asked on two sites and got no reply lol
2, my male tremper is going to be a big boy when he is older so i wanted to get a long term one
3, i wanted one with space for both of them

well it came with sum free dryed moss and well the geckos dont seems to like it as soon as i put them in with it they would do a U turn and get out so i put sum in there old Moist hide and again they wont even go into that *confussed*

do they just not like moss ?

does anybody else have this problem ?

Lol, Ares doesn't have a moist hide, as he seems to do well with shedding right now.
I do have one made for his just in case that changes. If that ever happens I will add moss to mine and let you know how he reacts to it.

i use 2 different brands of moss in my hides. one retains moisture really well and the other is just soft. my gals seem to like it. it's like a pillow top mattress on a king sized bed

my leos love their moss. if they arent in their warm hide theyre in the moist lol
try setting some in a few different places outside the hides to let them smell it and get used to it

My Leonard has a ceramic like bowl with moss in it that I keep moist and on the warm side of the tank every day I lift the covering and he's in the bowl with the moss strown every where, does he hate moss.

I think I got the same kind of moist hide. I used a paper towel in the bottom.

Mine didn't mind the moss but I found it went moldy really quickly in my tanks. Like within 2 days of putting new moss in the humid hides. So I switched to plantation soil and they are both happy with it. They are in the humid hides much more often too.

I sell moss so I might be shooting myself in the foot here...

But honestly for LGs - I'd just stick with cocofiber in the moist hides. Its better than moss for a few reasons... It holds humidity better, It's a much better substrate for egg laying, it resists mold pretty well, AND it doesn't risk adding any fungus gnats or other moss inhabitants...

That being said - Moss is imo the #1 choice for vivarium floors for amphibians. :)
