I really don't know anybody who likes moving, but moving in February in Northern Ohio with a breeding collection makes things even more complicated.
We did manage to move all 200+ animals without any harm. They got moved on Friday, and we are still working on getting everybody set up properly. UGH! We have been mostly focusing on them, so we haven't even really had a chance to unpack our own stuff. They have taken extra long since we didn't want to put them all in dirty homes. That means all tubs, water bowls, food bowls, calcium dishes and hides had to be cleaned before the animals could be put away. We've been working on them every single day since we got our stuff moved Saturday. We are getting close. We just have a few more calcium dishes to go in a couple adult racks. Then we can get the milii and fattail out of the rack and into their tanks. Then we can get them organized again into their correct groups (breeders/animals for sale/sold waiting for shipping/etc...)
Some of the tags got lost that marked who ate what, so I get the joy of figuring that out again. Some I know because they've been around long enough. Some of them I honestly can't remember.
We got our internet service connected on the 1st. Now I have to take pics of animals people are interested in, and get them sent off. I feel bad because the one person gave me his email address on the phone Friday. I know it is in a notebook. What box the notebook was packed in...who knows. The guy will probably think I blew him off, which really I didn't. I feel like I'll be playing catch-up for the next month.
On the plus side the baby that hatched on Friday who had to be moved only a few hours later shed today, so he should be ready to eat tomorrow. We also got a baby from one of the eggs today. I'm hoping they didn't get jostled too much and continue to hatch.
Yes, we had to move 2 incubators with eggs as well. We put them in a hovabator connected to a UPS so they could maintain temps a little better. Of course the UPS was in alarm the entire drive. Gotta love a high pitched beeping sound every minute when you are driving.
If you read this thanks for listening to me whine. If not, I don't blame you. Just writing this made me feel better.
