Moving UTH?

I searched and didn't find if this was asked before. I have a tank that was used for a frog that has a UTH on the side of the tank. I'd like to reuse this tank for a leo, so I want to move the UTH from the side of the tank to the bottom. Has anyone done this before? What do you think would be the best method?

Thanks!

Personally, i would peel it off the side, qnd reattach it to the bottom using that foil tape meant for heating ducts

I have relocated the UTH's for my leos a few times when cleaning. mine just peel and stick with the glue that came on them. but you have to be careful when peeling them as you can damage the filliments in them if you go too fast or too sharp of an angle.

I agree, the aluminum tape is a great idea and I have used it for my tank with mift. Anyways, you should also make sure the tank doesnt sit on the cord or the heater doesnt touch the surface of what it is standing on, so you can buy little rubber "feet" at homedepo. They look like this:

Just stick them at each corner of the tank to raise it a bit off the ground.
The aluminum tape should be there too.

Before you use that mat though, check for damage like cracks in it and anything that might be worrysome. And you need a thermastat to regulate the heat coming out into the tank so you don't accidentally burn your reptile.
