Mute function in Incubator

Hello guys. Does anyone have experience with those minibar-type kind of incubators such as the Lucky Reptile HerpNursery II or the ExoTerra incubator? Well, when we are using it with GEO containers for the eggs, is it still requiered to keep the fans on normal or we may safely use the MUTE function on the back of the incubator that slows down the fans?

Thanks for your input!

You would have to test it with several temperature probes for a few days to know for sure. A lot depends on the temperature of the room you have the incubator in. The fan circulates air and keeps the temperature consistent so turning it down may cause certain places inside the incubator to be warmer or cooler than others. I'm not sure I would try it if you have eggs in it but once you're done with the breeding season you can keep it on and move the probe around to see if the temperatures are different closer to and farther away from the heat tape with the fan on a different setting.

Thanks for the reply. Truth is even with fans on these incubators always have some temperature difference between upper, middle and lower levels.

My incubator has slight differences too and my fan only has one option - on or off...haha. Key is to know the differences and make sure your eggs are kept in the same spot or a consistent spot while they are in there. Good luck with it!
