would you give us a rundown of your cage setup? By rundown I mean number of hides (type as well), food/water dishes (do you have any?!), calcium bowl (dont see that either), temps, etc... just everything you have in thte cage. That will help us to offer you some advise. I think there are a few things that could be altered for the well being of your geckos. Also, as stated above, what are the sexes of the geckos?

Bennayboi I have put up with your crap long enough, and I'm done, I think you are an *******. Instead of trying to help people and guide them in the right direction you degrade and have RARELY anything nice to say. I don't even care if this gets deleted.

Who do you think you are to tell someone that their parents are "irresponsible and dumb"??? NEVER in my life would I say that to someone, let alone someone I don't know on the internet...someone young that could use some help.

Phil, do not take to heart what he just said.

In reality, your husbandry has a few issues that you could change to help your geckos live longer, healthier lives. I'm sure other HELPFUL people on here will give you tips.

also a male and female shouldnt be housed together either untill your ready to breed... when bred too young it can really do some damage!

2 females on the other hand is usally a safe bet! :)

Way to help someone just starting off. Ben. don't let people like this discourage you. Your geckos look as if they could use a little better care and there are plenty of good people on this forum that are knowlageable that can help you, Unfortunatly you came across one that isn't. :D Please answer the questions on here and let us help you and any questions you have, don't be shy. There is no such thing as a dumb question.

Here are some tips that could really help:
*Temps ideally - above the under tank heater on one side of the tank - should be between 88-93*F SURFACE temp, not ambient air temp.

*Substrate wise, loose stuff is not good. A good change from the bark shavings (or whatever they are) is ceramic tiles, newspaper (although their toes turn black :)), paper towel, and repticarpet. Just be sure that with the new substrate, the temps are correct, as one layer of paper towels will let in much more heat than a bunch of wood shavings.

*Hides - they need at least 3. One warm/dry, one cool/dry, and one moist. They don't have to be anything fancy. The moist one can even be made out of an old butter tub with a hole cut in the side, and moist paper towel inside.

*As far as housing geckos together, being that the ones pictured were on the thin side, I would separate until you can fatten them all up. This way you know who's eating, how much, and how normal of bowel movements they are each having. By the the time they are all healthy you would positively know sex as well. Housing different aged, different sex geckos together can be catastrophic, winding up with WAY early pregnancies that can even lead to death.

*Supplementing is 100% necessary. Calcium powder should be dusted onto every feeder, even if it's mealworms thrown in a bowl. Keeping a little bowl of pure calcium powder in the enclosure is great as well, as geckos will regulate their intake.

I really hope some of these tips help...and as for negative comments on here, that is NOT what this website is about. We are here to help.

Here is a little list for you, of things to get at the store:
-I reccomend a 15g-20g tank for each gecko. If both are females then one 20-30g tank will be fine.
-one water bowl; something shallow
-one mealworm dish; try to get a ceramic bowl or glass ash tray as the worms can climb out of most other bowls.
-one calcium bowl; could be as simple as an upturned milk cap
-repti-carpet; get the size that you need for what ever tank(s) you get.
-for each cage you will need a warm hide, a huumid hide, and a cool hide. If they are both FEMALES and can be housed together safely, and you put them in the same cage I would reccomend getting two of each type of hide. This is really helpful in reducing stress on the geckos.
-and decorations you like; I see you have that fake plant in there, thats nice. Maybe try a driftwood log?
-a heat pad corresponding in size to the tank(s) you get

You can use the half log hide that you currently have as a warm or cool hide with no problem. I would take out those rocks, just beacuse they look rather rugged. You can replace them with larger smooth stones; nothing too small though (that could be ingested)

Here is a link to a great humid hide
http://pet.imageg.net/graphics/product_images/pPETS-3762785t400.jpg
Get a few of the mediums, as they are the perfect size for a fullgrown gecko... the small ones are quickly outgrown, and the large ones (IMO) dont provide enough security.

Here is a cheaper humid hide, if you dont mind the unnatural look:
DSC_0648.jpg

it is just a tupperware container with some window screen trapped unnder the lid, and hot glued to the bottom so that the geckos can climb up easy. It is then filled with spaghnum moss or paper towels. Just keep them damp.

You may be shocked at the cost of alot of these items at the store; and may want to look online for better deals. So, as a backup, I will give you a rundown of the most basic setup that will suffice untill you get the other supplies (if you choose, as this setup is OK to use for them their whole life)

-20g tank per gecko unless you have two females (30g)
-paper towel substrate
-heatpad for te size tank you get (this is what you may have to get at the store now, as they cant go withought heat; pick up some live mealworms too- thats all you really need NOW)
-over the heat pad place a humid hide; it can be as simple as the picture I posted above, other people cut a whole in te lid or side of a cool whip container and put damp paper towels in the bottom.
-on the other end of the heat pad place an upturned margerine container with a hole cut in te side as a door (you can use your log for one of the hides)
-on the side farthest from the eat pad (the heat pad should be far to either the left or right) place another upturned margerin container with a hole cutr in the side as a door
-now just find something to use as bowls and you are all set.
hope this helped, and someone tell me ifd I left something out.
