I have a 52 gram, 4 1/2 month old who i thought was a male due to higher incubating temps (86-88), but now im looking again and thinking he is really a she since there are no defined pores or tail lumps. either way, i just noticed she/he is trying to dig like my mature females do when looking for an egg-laying spot. Any ideas on why a leo this young would be digging? I'm thinking some leo's are just diggers, but this is the first time i have heard this one going at it.

I believe they technically CAN start laying eggs around that age (don't quote me on it) but either way, I have heard lizards in general will dig for whatever reason. And also, isn't 86 degrees on the low-mid end of incumbation temps? Could very well be a female.

as far as the incubating temps go, i assumed/read/thought that 80-82 was low-end, 84-85 was mid and 88-90 was high. i just figured mine were both males since it stayed mostly at 87. hope it isnt a hot female.
