My Baby is Shedding

This morning I was handling my lil girl and noticed that she looked a little dull. I was thinking to myself that she looked like she was going to shed, though I couldn't find any shed yet.

Well this afternoon I found out that I was right. She is indeed shedding now. I laid on the floor in front of her tank for a while and watched her. She was chilling in her humid hide and occassionally she would rub herself up against the wet paper towel. I thought that was cool becasue it was obviously helping get the shed off of her. I even got to see her eat some of it.

At 7ish this evening I went to check on her again. Her toes seem fine, but there's still some shed on her back. I've read on GF that I should give her 24 hours before I help her out. So is leaving her until 430ish tomorrow afternoon okay? Or should I help her out tomorrow morning before I leave for work? (Of course assuming she hasn't handled the situation on her own.)

Thanks!

I have never had any problems with shed on the back, only toes. If the toes are fine, she is fine. Just check her tomorrow (at anytime, the toes are the 24 hr. watch) and make sure she has none left in her nose or on the tip of her tail.

make sure her humid hide is nice and wet and she should shed that skin off just fine.

I double checked. The paper towel on the bottom is moist and there is a little condensation on the sides of the hide. Should be wet enough, right?

This morning I got up and checked on her. She still had a little shed stuck on her back. I used a wet q-tip to gently rub off. She seemed fine with the whole thing and the skin came off relatively easily.

Congratulation's! Maybe you should give her a treat for not biting you. I used a q-tip to get stuck skin off toes, I have been bitten 20+ times lol.

Wow that sucks!

I just put her in a little tuperware container and started rubbing gently with the q-tip. She looked at me like I was crazy and sauntered over to the other side of the container. I stopped rubbing and pet her little head with my finger and she stood still from then on. She's such a darling. But then as soon as I took her out when I was done, she declared playtime. She ran up my arm and then I would pick her up from my upper arm (I didn't want her to get where I couldn't reach her) and she repeated the process for a good 10 minutes. Haha!
