Im a newbie mealworm breeder andI have got about 6 beetles so far from my pupae. I have them in a container with good ventilation oatmeal/ gutload mixture with toliet paper tubes and a carrot and apple slice. It seems after they turn into beetles a few days later they die. I dont seem to be able to figure out why. Any ideas? I have lots of pupae that I have collected over the past couple of weeks (I have around a hundred or so that I keep in a small container separate) But it doesn't matter if they die before they are able to breed and lay eggs. Any advice is appreciated and I thank you in advance!

The Death of a meal worm beetle

The meal worm beetle does die, after laying eggs, but normally not that quick. I would throw the pupae in the mix and let them turn to beetles.
If you eat oranges.....put the peels in the mix. That was the big change to my being able to have a good supply going. Carrots great also but still add the oranges. Here is a little knowledge site to read.
