Northman, who has been renamed North, got a photoshoot :) North is a baby from captain x sunspot (see avargarde geckos).

Here "he" is unfired:

Here he is mostly fired (like 85%). Getting this gecko to fire is SO much work, he's so chill and relaxed. Mina, you do an absolutely wonderful job getting your babies used to handling. I handled him for a while, then put him in a deli cup with a moist paper towel, THEN stuck him in the bathroom with all the lights off, in the deli cup, for 5 mins. THEN he was finally fired. I forgot to take a look for pores, dangit.

Sweet..

please explain the whole fireing thing.. i visually see a difference..
but when do they and why do they?

Rachs, and some other animals (beardies come to mind) change color depending on: mood, light level, time of day/night,etc. Nocturnal animals like rachs (cresties, gargs, etc) usually show their brighter colors a night. Whereas my bearded dragon is brightest colored during the day. If he's angry, or hungy he'll turn black in places and get dark,

Nice little gecko! LOVE the name ;)
The breeder named "him" Northman, but since I'm not sure of sex yet it's been renamed North, i love the name too!

Is there anything you can do to trigger this? or do people just wiat till night time to take the fired photos?

yeah, sometimes when you take out an animal and handle it it will fire, there are a few tricks you can do too; the wet paper towel in a deli cup can make an animal fire, I used that trick + being in a dark room to get this baby to fire
