My Crested Gecko STILL won't let me hold him :(

I've had my gecko since October 19. I particulary chose this one because it was small. It looked about a few months old. It's tail was already dropped when I bought him but I still decided to get him. I set up his terrarium, it has the Eco-Earth soil and moss. I have plastic vines/leaves that hang on the side of the terrarium. The petstore told me to mix the soil and moss so the moisture stays inside. He's about 4 inches (head to stub :D) and he's the cutest thing you'll ever see. Is something wrong with my terrarium or am I not feeding him right? I just love my gecko I spend all the time I can get with him. So please, help me :main_huh:

When they are small, they are really rambunctious and love to jump EVERYWHERE. I've had mine for a few months now and she's still jumpy. Your set up sounds amazing and you aren't doing anything wrong. The more you hold him/her, the more she will relax with being held. Just keep it up

My babies in general are quite jumpy too. They get a lot better when they're about a year old and over 15g. Most of my adults are super cool and calm except for one oddball female that is scared to death of anything bigger than she is. I'd just give him time - he should calm down eventually with gentle handling. It's best not to handle the little ones super often as their body temp can get too high very quickly just sitting on your arm which will stress and possibly harm them since your body temp tends to be over 90.
