Since theres no new posts about this i decided to start my own!
Feel free to post your own operations ect.
First I the would like to state that dubai roaches are illegal in Canada, so I'll be using crickets!
I'm going to use a small 10-20 Gallon fish tank that works well for holding so why not breeding? Inside the small bedding box will be damp gardening soil!
I'll also use a people heat blanket for warmth. I'm going to try to heat a second tank with the same heat pad hehe. When the eggs are all layed I'm going to move them to another container.
I'll definetly post pictures!
Do you breed your crickets? Why or why not? maybe you dont have crickets, do you breed your feeders?

I do breed my feeders (dubias and mealies) simply because it isnt economical for me to spend five dollars on 100 mealworms at the reptile store near my house when I have to feed 21 geckos at the moment! :D Good luck with breeding your crickets though! I can't stand them personally, but that's just me ;)

Update is here:
I got a sour cream container, then cut some rectangles about 3 inches up, then used gardening soil. I also taped some paper towel so they can climb in and out, then watered it. I leave a slightly larger container's lid onto to keep some moisture inside.
I also glued two halves of a egg container together lightly so they stay together :)

It's also the first time using a heat pad with crickets, and its raised the temp to about 85 degrees on the warm spot.
The warm spot is about 2 inches now, just covering the nesting box. Is that a good temp for a gradient?
I also put some newspaper in a unrolled paper towel rolled and cut it in half, but I saw a video with just normal paper towel rolls, so I'll do that with my box that i put the babies in so i can just shake the roll into the powder container.

I'm done.
So, to begin i took a rubbermaid container thats 16.5W 26 long and 13 deep. this offers lots of room to work with all around. i made a 10 by about 7 cut in the lid, best to do with the lid so the mess goes in the bucket :) used an electric saw for this. then i used a screen door mesh and hot glued it on. Next I used a drill to make 1 inch round holes in the sides, 5 to each side. I made squares about 3" long and hot glued them on. Next was the handles, they had vent holes so i cut 10" strips or what not, ran around them with glue and sticked it on inside the bin:) thats really it. Of course there's ways to imrove looks, but i rather have performance and durability than looks.
I also posted an ad on a local website offering them for sale, so if peoplw want to buy them I'll ask how theyd like it done like a bunch of tiny holes or huge holes. would you buy one from me? or go to a store? (hypothetically)

What a success! In less than 3 hours the crickets are already laying eggs! I had a ovipositor fall off in netting i put on top the soil in the lay box, since there was a little fleshy thing. I wouldn't see how this would be a problem, since it's only once in possibly a lot of eggs. I also got only 7 males and about 25 females so it seems good!
