So by may i would have my dubia for a year. I started out with 200 and kept them in this. At first they were kept in a 18 gal bin with a heat lamp. I removed the heat lamp because after it popped so many times, i was just afraid of leaving it while i wasn't home. I just use a human heat pad now and moved them to a much bigger bin.

and now... i have this much..

I use a clear bin because i like to see what their up to and even though it's clear, they are kept under my table, which keeps the bin somewhat dark.

i still think there is not enough...

fed with oranges, bananas, fish food, dog food, and guinea pig food.

In a few months i will be trading some of these for some mealworms. If anybody is interested, pm me and i'll pm u when its ready.

how many do you think there are in there?

your off to a great start. if you move them less they will deff breed faster. all colonies seem to do better when their left alone fed a lot with a good amount of heat and water source. I keep mine with a reptile heat pad under 2 10 gallon tanks and I use packing tape to close out 70% of the screan lid to keep a lil more heat and humidity in there. I keep the space above their food with no heat and the vent right above. I dont watch the temps or humidity anymore because iv had them for over a year I just kinda eye ball everything the heat is always constant. They get a chicken feed based chow faily and fresh apples and oranges every few days. keep us posted great colony! :main_thumbsup:

It is possible, you just have to be more diligent about feeding off your females, and lowering your temps (they won't breed, but can live happily at room temperature) when you get to a size that you like.

I personally dont like to slow the breeding down at all just to keep the production high and them happy. I take the older males and give them to friends or sell or trade to people that breed bearded dragons and monitors. :main_thumbsup:
