Hey everyone i lost my female gecko on Dec.24th. My male gecko is still alive but he kinda looks lonely. Should i get another female gecko to put in there with him. I had these 2 gecko's for almost 4yrs. My boyfriend found them on the side walk where he was working and brought them home. So i don't know how long the two gecko's were together before we got them. They are leopard gecko's. Does anyone have any answers if i should get another female for the male or is he ok by himself. Any suggestions would be really appreciated.

It's kinda rare to just find some leos on the sidewalk while walking home...if you don't mind me asking, where do you live?

To answer your question, it wouldn't be a good idea to get another female, he could breed with her too many times, resulting in her becoming either stressed or eggbound, then dead. Sorry to hear about your female =(.

BTW, this really doesn't have much to do with Morphs and Genetics;)

Typically leopard geckos do just fine living in their own place. In my limited experience I have found that many of them do better in a solitary life. If you do get another gecko be sure to quarantine for health reasons, and don't get another male if you plan on putting them together again.
