I don't want to be rude or anything, but could it be possible both parents were patternless? Patternless babies are pretty distinguishable, and blizzard babies don't have any patterning like that hatchling.
Maybe someone else can chime in if I'm wrong, but that really looks patternless and not blizzard.
I was told both parents where blizzards when I bought them last year. I also posted pics of my geckos on this site back in February asking if anyone can tell me what color morphs I have in my collection. And this ones parents I was told were blizzard. I know people could be wrong my just looking at the reptile, line breeding will be needed to find exact morphs, but from all my knowledge its parents are blizzard, but after looking at other images of juvenile pattern less leo geckos on the web they both do look very similar. And by no means your being rude, I appreciate all the help.
Yeah, spotting on the baby is a sign of Murphy's Patternless, not Blizzard. This additionally has no yellow, which makes me think it is a Snow Murphy's Patternless.
To be honest, I've always wondered whether folks can tell an adult Patternless from a yellowed adult Blizzard...
I assume the one in the picture on the bottom right is one of the parents of that hatchling. If that's the case, that is most definitely a Murphy's Patternless and not a blizzard. Blizzards tend to be more greyish and uniform, while patternless bodies have that greenish tint and the tail looks kind of purple. If you look up some images comparing them, you'll see what I mean.
If all Blizzards were gray and all Patternless were yellow/green, it would be simple, but there are many strains with varying levels of yellow. Take a look at Banana Blizzards, for example, and some of them are pretty much indistinguishable from a Murphy's as adults. Same with Mack Snow Murphy's Patternless and Blizzards in many cases.
I guess my point is that the two can be difficult to identify by sight, and this is certainly a case of that. One of the reasons its good to buy geckos you intend to breed from reputable breeders who know what genes they're working with... :\
Alright thanks for the help, I bought the parents from a reptile show in St. Louis, and I assumed the breeder that sold them to me that they were blizzard. (Which that's what he told me) I guess not, well you live and you learn. Im still happy with the babies I hatch though.
I guess that is true about the different variances of yellowing in blizzards, but I think the babies produced by this pairing is proof enough that they're patternless. Patternless babies are just as awesome as blizzard babies in my opinion. =)
