This is my first ball python, but I do have experience with leopard geckos and cresties. A co-worker gave me his ball python with a 30 gallon tank. I just brought him home yesterday and I was wondering when should I feed him? He last ate about a week ago and he has been eating frozen mice ( snake measures about 2 feet). My co-worker did tell me that he is used to feeding in a different container.
How long should I wait to handle him? The guy that gave him to me brought him to work to give him to me, the snake was of course in his hiding spot, after about 2 hrs he wanted to get him out to show me what he looked like, I told him I would rather not stress him out, but he went ahead and tried to pick him up and he tried to bite him, should I be concerned about that, I think he was just stressed.

First off congrats on the new addition they are a blast!
The snake wasn't shipped so the snakes' stress level shouldn't be a huge factor which brings us to feeding. It sounds like your snake has a pretty good feed response with it striking at your friend, and I believe that's exactly what it was thinking, food's coming! I'd feed as soon as you can. Good luck and congrats again!:main_thumbsup:
