Hey everyone!!! I'm so excited, we brought home our first Leopard Gecko and he's great! I say he, but really I have no idea if it's a he or she, until I know otherwise....it's a he :main_laugh:
He's been acclimating well to his new home and actually he shed last night. I was really surprised because I didn't know it happened so fast. When I went to bed he didn't seem to be shedding, when I woke up...he was done. His colors are brighter now for sure.
Picked him up at Petco in Concord, NH. No idea what kind of Morph he is, haven't bothered to try and research it yet. He's just for a pet anyway, no breeding. If anyone has any ideas though, let me know!
He has been eating at least a few meal worms each day and is active. I held my hand near him tonight after feeding him a few worms thinking he would sniff me out and much to my surprise he crawled right into my hand! Now on to some pictures!
Hanging out on top of one of the homemade hides.
A better picture of him on top of the hide....he loves the little indent we made in it.
This was while he was sleeping this morning...you can see some of his shed in the foreground. My hot side thermometer probe in the background
And here's one of him hanging out near the water on the cool side
So, what do you all think? His name is Ecko...my 2 year old named him. That's how she says gecko so he is Ecko the gecko. Any idea on how old he might be, approximately? Those tiles are 4"X4" for reference....so he's about 5" or so.
