My baby Nefertiti and her new home.
Polystyrene coated with multiple layers of grout of increasing thickness. Painted and then sealed. I had never worked with the stuff before and besides measurements didn't have much of a game plan.
Substrate is ceramic tile set into sand. I brushed loose sand over the surface of the tile mosaic until it had all settled into the cracks. I sprayed the flooring all down with water so that the tiles fragments set in nice and solid. (all tile fragments had their sharp edges dulled)
Humid hide is the coconut shell half, (she's still a baby) but I'm hoping to upgrade that soon for something bigger.
The blocky rock on the right side is a volcanic cinder bomb which I hollowed out with a chisel to make small cave. That's her favorite spot.
Any constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated : ]
PS, I did make a polystyrene hide but when I was testing out temperatures over the heating mat the insulation properties of it caused the temperature to sky rocket. I decided against using the hide, I don't want fried gecko brains (115+ Fahrenheit!)
