I got this little guy at a pet store three days ago. They called it a "fancy leopard gecko" but they didn't know exactly what morph it was. Anyone have any ideas? He's very active and likes to be handled. I also need a name so any suggestions are welcome!

Aw very cute. It's an albino of some kind. There are three strains. I'm no expert but I believe you can tell them apart by the eyes. I'm sure someone here will probably point you right. Enjoy your little pet and welcome to Leopard geckos! :D

Definately an albino lol. It's impossible to know exactly which strain without knowing the parents, or conducting extensive test breeding unfortunately :( But the little guy will make a wonderful pet regardless when he fattens up and grows :)

It looks as though your gecko is getting large enough, although some males can take a while to look /very/ male. Juveniles can look female until they are mature. Your best bet would be to examine the area in front of its vent for visible pores.

There are some pictures on these pages. Note that these pictures are mature adults, where the difference is very pronounced. It can be more difficult to tell on juveniles. The pores on younger males can be lighter.

Looks female to me, at this point, but it is still young right? How old is it? How big is it as far as inches and grams? If it is still pretty young and small it could be a male who's bulges and preanal pores just aren't vey pronounced yet.

Regardless, you have a lovely Leo! Very nice! [emoji3]

I'd say that she is probably a female then. I have always been told to wait until 30-35g to attempt to sex. She's pretty close to that. :)
