This is my first gecko. I bought him at a reptile expo on Sunday (2 days ago), he went through a shed today, ate it all, and is doing fine on gut-loaded mealworms, I'm also giving him waxworms to fatten him up. I'll pick up crickets this weekend at work (I work at a pet store).

My question is what would his coloring be called?

He is definitely a boy, about 6 months old. His name is Icarus.

Yeah, looks like a high yellow to me :D Not sure how the genetics work with one parent being a mack, but maybe someone else could help you out there ;)

Very beautiful though!!:main_thumbsup:

Mack Snows are recessive so if only one parent was a snow and the other wasn't a carrier of the recessive gene then all of the babies would be normal but carry the mack snow gene. :)

I believe mack is co-dominate so if one parent mack babies 50% chance of being mack, tthe can't be het for mack

Mack Snow is co-dom, not recessive. So all babies from the pairing would have 50% chance of being Mack Snow. Your's could be a low quality Mack Snow, but without a picture of it as a hatchling it's hard to tell. Babies will be black and white and lose the white as they grow older.

Oh lord so much information. My friend Brittney actually brought her female over to keep him company since she is going away for about 2 months, and they are getting along great. I have no idea what the coloring is on hers, shes much more orange than Icarus, and has some orange on her tail. I'm considering attempting to hatch out eggs just to keep for myself =)

her female compared to my male.
