Why do you feed it fish rather than mice?
Is it just what its used to in its natural environment?

Minnows are just part of her diet. When she gets bigger I will also feed her pinkies

I should say that she is a Striped Keelback. Just found that out today. Looks the exact same as a garter. I need to take her back to the reptile shop. They had her labeled as an eastern garter

She looks simular to the eastern garter we have here, but not quite My husband has one, he's actually a rescue. We've had him for going on two years now I guess? We feed him pinky's. When we first got him he did eat fish, but then we discovered he liked the pinky's a heck of a lot more
