So after all these years of owning geckos I accidental left the lid off the tank for one night and one of my geckos (nephrurus levis levis) managed to scale it hide rock and up and out of the tank.
I managed to find and rescue the gecko the following day but I noticed that in its escape it snapped one of its little toes which is now bent at 90 degrees.
I have heard that geckos will be fine with less toes but can anyone advise me on what to do? should I be doing something? or leave it?
I feel terrible for it even though as soon as I replaced it it hunted one cricket from the night before so it seems fine.
Anyway...thanks for any advice.
