right firstly hi all...second whilst doing a plumbing job in empty house this little gecko came out and scuttled across floor, the house had been empty for mths, think its a medeterranian gecko, dont know if male or female,,i have bought a tank for it,and it seems to like its new surroundings,,suprised it survived as the house was in halifax england with no heat on,,

Oh, I DO wish you the best of luck in rehabilitating this little one...but I'm not sure if it's a mediterranean gecko, the toes don't quite look right...my best guess is some sort of bent-toed gecko? (Cyrtodactylus/Cyrtopodion sp.?)

With the proper housing/care he's getting from you, I'm sure he'll plump up in no time. Keep us updated and his progress, he's one lucky gecko.

They will eat meal worms, crickets, silk worms, locust, and the occasional wax worms. Adult will eat approximately three times a week. Make sure to dust all prey items with calcium every feeding and vitamins once every week.

You can keep them just like many other desert geckos. For daytime temps should be between 25-30°C with hot spot up to 37°C; then temps can be at ambient room temp at night. Humidity should be around 30-50% during day and 50-60% at night. They are nocturnal, so no special UV lighting required. You can house up to 1.2 together, so a mate would probably be nice if you can find one is your area.
