I was handling my juvenile (6 months) today and he got a little too adventurous and squirmish so I went to put him back. As I stood up he shot forward off my hand and dropped onto the floor.
He fell from about waist height onto carpet, landing feet/belly first. He doesn't seem to be injured; he chirped, scurried away quite quickly onto the hand I put in front of him. I put him back in his viv and he immediately went to one of his favourite spots underneath some artificial plants between two hides. He stayed there for a few minutes before creeping out towards his warm hide. Is he just a little shaken up?
As a first-time gecko owner, I'm a little paranoid and just wondering what I need to look out for in terms of any injuries? It was a soft landing for him so I don't think there is anything to worry about, but you can never be too careful, right? I'll keep an eye on him to see if there's any unusual behaviour or change in appetite, but I just want to know if I actually have anything to worry about.
