My Leo Gecko needs help...

We have had our Leo for about 4mths and noticed last night that he had lost alot of weight and not moving well at all. Just about 2 weeks ago he was doing great and I switched the main light to stay on 24/7 due to the weather. We found him last night not moving well and skinny with pal skin. He has uneaten crickets but they normally last a few days in his tank until he finishes them all off.
I'm now faced with, is the tank to hot ( 10 gal glass w/wire top ) or is it to cold and he can't eat.
Not sure when he starting turning for the worst, with X-mas and the fact that he likes to hide in his cave until he's ready to eat we haven't really noticed anything bad.
Thanks

He's most likely going to need reptile vet care, if he's that bad off right now.

However, telling us everything about your setup for him and what you feed him and supliments, we can help figure out what went wrong. Then we can help you during his recovery.

O.k, your right I wish I would've found this site earlier so I would be on top of this.
He lives in a 10gal glass tank with a wired top and I have two lights -1 UV can't recall watts but was top of line @ local pet store( on a timer set( 7am / 9pm ) and a basic blue light ( 40watt )that stays on 24/7.
He has two shelters from the light and a huge 4 piece climbing rock that he would perch on at night.
We feed him live crickets with meal worms ( normally doesn't eat them ) and ( deja blue ) bottle water.
During this post I checked on him and it doesn't look like he's going to make a trip to the vet. I still need feed back for future. thanks

Yes, thats the only heat, I was told that heated rocks weren't great for them and I do have a stat.

He needs belly heat to digest his food and without it most will not eat. Go to you're local pet store and get a small UTH (Under Tank Heater aka Heat Pad). You'll also want something to regulate the temp weather it's a thermostat or dimmer, they should also have these in the reptile section. You want the hot side to be about 90-92 on the ground not the air.

Does he look dehydrated? If he's weak I wouldn't do a water soak he could drown in the water. You can use moist paper towels in a small plastic food container to hydrate him up a bit, for about 15-20 minutes. Place it in his tank so that it stays warm in there for him.

Also make up some of Marcia's slurry to help a bit.

Thanks for the reply, I'm on my way to buy both. I hoping to make a differnence with him, but if not I'll be prepared for the next. I will also read more this time.
We bought it out of no where without thinking. I'm also into Saltwater Fish and I hate it when people jump in without reading up on it. Thanks

Make sure to get a digital thermometer with a long probe so you can get the temp of the ground not the air temperature. You can find a good one from $7-15.00 at and pet store like Petsmart or Petco.
