My leo not gaining weight

My male leo is not gaining weight, while his mate is getting quite fat. Would age effect him not gaining weight? Because my female is about 15 or 16 and she is doing great, while he is just going now where, and he eats more than her when I feed.

As long as he's a healthy weight I wouldn't worry about it

Well here on this forum they say your leo needs to have a fat tail, his is not skinny but nor is it really that fat.

what time period are we taling about since u last weighed him.Do u have male and female in together.maybe there is bullying going on although u might not seeit.How old is your male,whats his weight, whats the other leos weight.what are they eating

I do not have a scale to weigh him on, need to buy one from the stores, probably do that today. Here is a picture of him, he has his tail erect in this picture, also he is quite old, probably close to 20 or over.

20 years, he and his female are both fed repashy calcium plus dusted crickets, it is very rare for them to fight(in general) when eating, they both go to their own separate side of the tank to feed. Also when I feed them, they do not eat all the crickets that I put in the tank, so they are getting plenty to eat. Like I said I do not have a scale, so I do not know his weight, and he is only housed with his mate who is 15 to 16 years old.

Well he looks fine to me, and if he's 20 years old or older he's going strong! I think your female must be just on the tubby side if she's making him look bad. But I would recommend getting a scale to monitor their weight which can ease your mind.

Probably, also give me the chance to get a new male in the house, since he has a kinked tail, unwanted genetics with him and his 3 offspring.

I am a she actually, well the method of feeding that I have been using on him the other adults and the offspring, I am being told is starving the animals. So maybe you do not want my advice, but how long is the average dieing age for leos.

Well it says they can live up to 25 years.

We are saying you're starving your babies, which is the truth and they have a stunted growth...which shows. As for your adults, since they don't eat/need as much you may be feeding them the right amounts.

Ok, well I am going to change their feeding methods since the current one I am using is wrong, make sure I go and buy some crickets today after I am done horse back riding.
