Here is my "newish" Leo...his/her name is The Godfather...

I'm not sure of his morph, but I am posting a topic in the Morphs/Genetics section for that question...it seems to be the right place for it.

Not sure on the sex, but for all intensive purposes it will be a "he" until I prove otherwise...might take some nice crotch shots of him later and see what you all think..... :D

Here is a quick description of his housing/setup:
Custom enclosure - 24 X 11 X 12 inside dimensions
Two Identical Hides - ExoTerra brand
Three dishes - Calcium, Mealies, Water
Fake Plant
Dome Light on a dimmer
Accurite Digital Thermo/Hygrometer
Tile floor...

I am getting ready to build a second floor on the cool side with a little ramp...gonna make it easily removable...might tackle that tomorrow...

Here he is on my scale...

Here he is...just him...ps he's in shed, he currently has damp paper towel in his warm hide for that...I'll post some more pics when he's nice and bright...:)

Enjoy,

Nice looking setup!!! Looks like you've done your homework. As for the morph it looks like a Hypo Tangerine to me, and post pics of the "crotch" when you get a chance lol..i'm sure you'll get plenty of answers, kinda looks female from the pic on the scale but not easy to tell.

Thanks Hulker...ya the general consensus in the Morphs section seems to be either Tangerine or Hypo Tangerine....he has more than 10 spots on his back, that's why I'm leaning towards Tangerine...either way, I think he was a good pickup for $40...

My money is on hypo tangerine, he/she still has some growing to do, and I'll bet some more spots disappear over time.

Nice leo and setup, i like the hardwood floor haha

Yeah, nice setup and gecko! I like the hardwood floor aswell! Why is it that most of the time, our leos get better treatment than we as humans do! I can't even get hardwood floors in my house, but yet, a gecko gets the luxury of it! lollll jk

For now, based on the size/width of the head and neck, i'd say it's a male. Females tend to have narrower heads and necks, and in proportion to the rest of it's body size, it seems to be a bit bigger which makes me lean towards male. :main_thumbsup:

Thanks all of you...the enclosure was kind of built on a whim...I walked into Lowe's to check out wood prices, and ended up buying the stuff right then and there! Only problem...the only plans I had were racing through my brain, I hadn't written out any measurements or anything! It all worked out though...

The bright light-I am actually going to take it out when I put in the second level...for whatever reason when I was trying to take some pics last night the flash on my camera was crappin' out...but ya, that light isn't actually on except for pictures :D

The hides are a little big though, that's why I want to build a second level over half of it...I may do that today, I'll post pics if I do.

UTH....Well, I didn't. Lol....I weighed my options, read several different forums online, talked to some breeders and came to the conclusion that what I have (lamp with dark bulb on dimmer) is just fine for my one gecko and that if I ever decided to breed I would build a rack system for the other's with flexwatt. I know I may get chastised for it, but I KNOW people successfully keep Leo's in MUCH worse setups than mine :)

Anyways- :) - I will post some pics later this evening if I put in the second level...and thanks again for all the comments :D

Heat lamps are less efficient, but ultimately heat is heat, and one leo shouldn't make a huge difference in the electric bill.
