I should start off saying that I bought my leopard gecko with this issue around august of 2016. I bought her not really knowing anything about geckos and sorta had to buy everything all at once. I know it's not responsible now, but I wasn't thinking of that then.
I have added some attached photos of my lizard's eye, along with a photo of how I recieved her and how she looks currently.

About your leo:
- Sex: Female
- Age: About a year
- How long have you owned you leo?: since late August 2016
- Where was he/she obtained (ex. Pet store, breeder, wild caught, friend): Pet store chain

A) Health/History
- How often do you handle your leo: Maybe once a day or so and only for a few minutes.
- Is your leo acting any different today? If so how does he/she normally act which differs from now. :No difference from the usual, she is really active and eats well.
- Has he/she had any problems in the past, if so please describe. : I bought her wih the issues she had. The pet store had put a discount on her, and me, not knowing anything about what a healthy leo looks like at the time pounced on the deal. (Later I spent about $300USD to get everything it needed)
B) Fecals
- Describe (look any different than normal): It's pretty consistent black dry dropping with a white tip.
- When was the last time he/she went
C) Problem
- Please briefly describe the problem and how long it has been going on: Since I have had her, she has had a missing toe, and a swollen eye. recently I began using FLUNKERS Repta Rinse to clean out her eye, and the swelling seemed to go down, BUT now she's left with this dry weird thing sticking out her eye. I have been using distilled water to moisten it as she isn't able to close her eye properly, and it just looks very uncomfortable when dry...

Housing:
A) Enclosure: Glass Terrarium
- Size: 10GAL
- Type (ex. glass tank): Glass
- Type of substrate: Coconut fiber and slate tiles
- Hides, how many, what kind: 2 Hides, 1 Moist with coco fiber and 1 dry with slate tile and under tank heater.
B) Heating
- Heat source: under tank heater, and when needed nighttime heat lamp.
- Cage temps (hot side, cool side): 90degrees on hot, 70-75degrees on cool.
- Method of regulating heat source: thermometers
- What are you using to measure your temps: thermometers
- Do you have any lights (describe): Nighttime heat lamp for cold nights, temp is always regulated when on.
C) Cage mates: none.
- How many (males, females):none
- Describe health, or previous problems: she has always been very active and healthy. SHe has done nothing but grow and she seems to do fine shedding on her own.

Describe Diet:
A) Typical diet: once every 2 days I feed her about 4 giant mealworms and once every 2-3 feedings I'll add a few wax worms. I have tried feeding crickets, and I think with her eyesight she just cant seem to catch them. She also misses alot when hunting.
- How are you feeding (hand fed, left in dish, ect): I leave her food in a raised dish, so the worms can't get out, but she can get in.
B) Supplements (describe how often)
- What vitamin/minerals are you using (list brands): I use Repti Calcium w/D3 with every feeding.
- What are you gut loading food with: I Gut load my worms 24hrs before feeding with sliced fruits and vegetables and oatmeal as substrate and food source.

Hmm, it could be a piece of shed. I would recommend using sterile saline rather than distilled water as far as eye rinsing goes.

But if her eye has been swollen since August, it's probably time for a vet visit.

imo it looks like an eye infection. The shed is a stuck on eye cap. The majority of time this can be related to a vitamin A deficiancy.

I had something similar happen to my male. I had to take him to the vet and he was put on injectible antibiotics for 3 weeks along with some antibiotic cream for his eye. The junk eventually popped off and he has full vision again today (he's about 13 years old fat and feisty!) I'd recommend heading to a vet since There is more than likely an infection behind the eye cap that can only be cleared up in a similar way.
