Hello everyone!!! Im new to owning crested geckos and reptiles for that matter. Here are my two new babies I picked up from the local pet shop. They were bred with a very beautiful father, whom I had the chance to meet and hold, they had 4 females so my guess on the mother is as good as yours. The red one is Gekke and the brown/yellowish one is Renni. we tried to pick non sexed names lol any input on the colors would be much appreciated, I've researched and came up wit, red harlequin flame? And harlequin tiger?

Forgot to mention Renni, the brown colored one has like a sand looking design on his head you can kind of see it in the pic on the rock

They are very cute! At this time I wouldnt try putting colors to their morphs yet as you will learn they change a lot as they grow. There is a term called "baby red" which alot of these guys go through and to the novice keeper or breeder they do not realize that this i just a stage for many geckos, and after you have been doing it a while you can actually tell the difference between baby red, and geckos that will actually be red as adults. But the fun thing about the changing is that you get to watch it happen! It is fun to watch them go through various shades, sometimes red, other times blondes, then ending up as some color you were not expecting like simply a standard color. So have fun! :D

That darn baby red always has me confused. This little one hasn't decided which way it's going to go yet. Sometimes it's a beautiful red and other times a nice blonde. I'm hoping for a nice red and cream with lots of lateral patterning. Only time will tell.

Darkridder, thank you for the info, so far I've only seen it red with the orange color on top, its kind crazy how the other standard looking guy sometimes fires up red and the only way I can tell the difference is one has blue eyes and the other brown. I can't wait to see what color they turn out to be!!! I appreciate the info again.

LI great pics and how old approximately is that one? I would hope he stays blonde it's very nice.

In other news my addiction has grown as I visited petsmart and saw a helpless little crestie in the window I had to save. Those crazy people had heat lamps on him with 10% humidity and like a 90degree temperature. After seeing how beautiful he was I couldn't let him stay in that horrible place well here is the beautiful......Mayhem. :)

Also he is a bit older and bigger than the other two so I housed him in another terrerium, my girlfriend wasn't so pleased that day lol

Well it takes a while for them to go through their colors, then all of a sudden one day they are something new, and just when you thought that it was going to be that it turns into something new. So dont expect it over night. These guys do not always setting into their adult colors until they are 20g+.

And the new one is cute!

Thank you, I have seen him/her fired up like this yet, oh btw anyone who can help does is look like it's a boy or still leaning towards a female?

Or is it still to early to tell, I don't know the weigh as funds are low for a scale

The belly sot picture is far too out of focus to tell the sex. Males can sometimes start to show pores as small as 3g, but can take upwards of 15g plus to show pores. For instance I have had several late bloomers, one at 12g, one I bought from someone at 14g they pore sexed it female, 17g they decided to sell it so I bought it, it arrived and I went um this is a male, and lastly a 19g gecko who was poreless and bulgeless, then a week or so later he had quite the bulge and pores soon followed. So people call geckos 10+ possible females up until around 18g that is usually a safe size to say probable female, my case was rare.

And dont worry about the colors just yet, they are still small and could change some again you never know, reds do go through an "ugly stage", although that isnt the same ugly stage background color they usually get. But maybe even better your gecko may get a super dark base!
