My little friend doesn't want to eat...

What should I do, today has been the fourth day Spot hasn't eaten. How often should I try to feed Spot? How should I feed him? Should I take the hide off then drop a worm in front of him or should I drop a worm into his hide? I think Spot is very young. He's only about 3 inches. Do younger gecko's take a longer time adjust to a new place? When I first got Stripes, he ate almost straight away when I got him home. How can I help him to adjust to his new tank faster? I'm not handling him at all. Please help. :(

Should I try to feed him or should I leave him alone? Every time I try to feed him, I have to lift up his hide either to take the worm out or to drop a worm in front of him. Does this stress the little guy out? Should I leave a bowl of mealies in at all times? Sorry for the tremendous amount of questions. I'm just worried. :(

I'm no expert but I would say if he's in a new tank then he's still getting used to his new environment. Lifting his hide might stress him a little bit if he's not used to you yet. He might just be a bit scared if it's all new to him.

So what I would do is, leave him to chill out and do his own thing for a few days. Leave a bowl of mealies in his tank. When he's ready I'm sure he will come out and explore and then he'll eat when he's hungry. Probably at night when it's dark and quiet and he feels safe. So you might not see him eat to start with. But give him time, he should be fine.

Yeah i agree with that. 3 inches is very small.

I have a bowl which is a little taller than him. Can he still see the mealies inside? If he can't, what should I do?

If he's had a few days to adjust, you might want to try dropping a worm in front of the hide he is in. Sometimes they feel more secure if they are able to ambush and retreat back to their hide. Don't worry, just keep trying! :)

Don't expect him to eat out of a bowl, some are adventurous and will look in the bowl and be surprised by moving food, others will not look in the dish.

I agree with Riyo, try dropping a mealie or cricket near him and he may eat it. If he doesn't, try again another day, sometimes it takes others longer to adjust.

I tried to feed him yesterday but he didn't want to eat. Including today, (6:30 PM) it would be the sixth day Spot has eaten. What is going on?! :(
